Spotted this over at pentadact.

If you’re going to screw up a meticulously laid plan in the first 2 seconds, I fully endorse getting hysterical about it over voice comms, so long as you record the whole thing for posterity.

This is from a play session from 4PlayerPodcast (thanks to those in the comments that pointed out the source). We’re told that no, it’s not staged. Over-dramatized maybe, but not staged.

    As Pentadact says, the best thing about it is the immediacy with which the ‘plan’ falls to pieces, and just how badly- Hunter-Boomer-Horde c-c-c-combo!

    2ndly. Its being recorded by the guy who overreacts and goes all high pitched and whiney, Who then must have posted it himself as it was his recording…. Just so boring. The guy quite possibly planned it. If it had been somebody else making fun of some idiot they met in a game fine. but somebody purposefully trying to sound as stupid and be as silly as possible probably to get famous on the internet doesn’t make me laugh it makes me sad.

    Ha, this never gets old. One thing I love about Left 4 Dead is there’s really only 2 kinds of fail scenarios: Either your teammates are idiots and leave you to get smokered or something…
    Or it’s a series of awesome events that lead to your ultimate demise, in the most hilarious way possible.

    Yeah, it’s pretty tragic when even failures are being aped in the hopes of brief internet fame. It’s obviously faked in the hopes of being a new Leroy Jenkins; and when someone’s best hope is to become Leroy Jenkins then they’re a loser forever.

    Lol I’ve seen this before. I like the line at the end that was unfortunately cut out in this version, “You used me like a PIPE BOMB! You used me like a pipe bomb…”.

    I think it’s pretty obvious that it is planned, but I don’t think that stops it from being funny. If I were you I wouldn’t get hung up on whether or not someone’s trying to get famous, and just take the video at face value. If you still don’t like it, that’s fair enough, but don’t simply rain on everyone’s parade by cynically moaning “it’s scripted, he just wants to be Leeroy Jenkins”, etc.
